I would recommend this adventure! The trail climbs 1,300' to its highest point before dropping to the Grouse Creek crossing and on down to an excellent lakeshore campsite. This trail goes by Kennedy Meadows and Relief Reservoir. The trail past the second bridge was pristine, but I recommend bringing a wag bag - there's not a lot of dirt to work with, so around the campsites your odds of finding a spot for a cathole that hasn't been used already are pretty slim. After getting to the trailhead, the first part of this trail is pretty heavily trafficked. Wonderful hike.
